چکیده

Last few years have seen extensive research being done in the area of localization algorithms for wireless, ad hoc computer and sensor networks. Despite the progress in the area of efficient localization algorithms, the problem of malicious beacon nodes has not received sufficient attention. In this paper, we study the robust localization problem in the presence of such nodes. In particular, we establish necessary and sufficient conditions for distributed distance-based localization in the presence of a given number of malicious nodes. To prove the sufficient condition, we propose LOCOMO, a novel and efficient distance-based localization framework that can provide a guaranteed degree of localization accuracy. This framework can be used with either a polynomial-time algorithm (which has a rigorous analysis of complexity) or a heuristic algorithm (which has practical efficiency). All the above results are extended to the 3-dimensional case. Extensive network simulation experiments demonstrate that our solution has very good localization accuracy and computational efficiency.

Swarm Intelligence based Detection of Malicious Beacon Node for Secure Localization in Wireless Sensor Networks

Wireless sensor networks (WS s), made of collection of small, cheap, low power sensors, have diverse applications in several domains of life. Most of their applications demand for spatial position of sensors. Beacon nodes which already know their location are mostly used to help other sensor nodes to locate their position. However localization of sensors in a hostile environment is a crucial is...

Distributed Reputation-based Secure Localization in Sensor Networks

Wireless Sensor Networks (WSNs) have critical applications in diverse domains like environmental monitoring and military operations like target tracking and land-mine detection where accurate location of sensors is vital. One common method of localization in literature uses a set of specialty nodes known as beacon nodes (BNs) that assist other sensor nodes (SNs) to determine their location. In ...

Detection of Malicious Beacon Node Based on Intelligent Water Drops Algorithm

--Security of the wireless sensor network is emerged as a crucial issue due its resource-constrained nature. Number of localization techniques suffers from security threats when there are compromised beacon nodes in the network. This paper presents a technique for detection and revocation of compromised beacon nodes using the concept of Intelligent Water Drop algorithm. The results are very pro...

SLAT: Secure Localization with Attack Tolerance

Accurate and secure localization is essential to the correct operation of many applications of sensor networks. However, existing methods lack concrete security mechanisms or are not resilient to beacon node compromise. We address the limitations of present approaches in this paper through the Secure Localization with Attack Tolerance (SLAT) protocol. In SLAT, non-beacon nodes estimate their po...

A Novel Survey on Location Based Node Detection and Identifying the Malicious Activity of Nodes in Sensor Networks

In sensor network node detection plays an important role in many applications. In this report, we are proceeding to go over the methodologies for the node detection based on the position. Likewise, we will survey on how the node will be detected based on different methodologies like distance vector, GPS, etc., Even though the nodes are called up. We also perform surveys on identifying the malic...
